Dr. Rick Westemeyer has devoted more than 30 years to medical missions work, including as a physician team lead following humanitarian disasters in Haiti, Ethiopia and Afghanistan. Medical missions work is a family affair for Dr. Westermeyer; his wife and two daughters are nurses and are also active participants in improving healthcare access in remote locations around the world.

Dr. Rick Parker Plastic Surgeon Austin Plastic Surgery Institute Austin, Texas
Dr. Rick Parker has served thousands of cleft palate patients in Central Texas and around the world in his 35 years as a volunteer physician. He helped to found the Central Texas Cleft Palette team in 1978, aiding children born in the region with corrective surgery and follow-up care, regardless of their ability to pay. In 1987, he co-founded Austin Smiles, which provided cleft palate and cleft lip care in the Austin area and on annual mission trips to Latin America.
